Stuck in Your Career? Map What’s Making the Next Move Hard to See

You know something needs to change. You just cannot see the next move clearly.

You have experience, ability, and plenty of ideas. Yet when you try to decide what comes next, you keep circling the same questions.

The difficulty may not be a lack of options. Changes in your work, priorities, identity, or circumstances may have made the old career map less useful. At the same time, familiar assumptions and patterns can narrow what you are able to see.

This live, two-hour virtual workshop helps you develop a clearer picture of what has changed, what may be keeping you in place, and what question is most useful to investigate next.

You will not be asked to choose a new career in two hours. You will make the situation clearer so you can investigate what comes next more intelligently.

What you will do

Using LEGO® Serious Play® model-building, guided reflection, and the Career Probe Field Guide, you will:

• Build a visual map of the change you are navigating and locate yourself within it
• Identify what is supporting movement and what may be constraining it
• Recognize common thinking patterns that can narrow your view under uncertainty
• Distinguish what you know from what you may be assuming
• Turn a broad sense of stuckness into a more focused question to explore

There is no correct way to build, and no artistic or LEGO-building skill is required. The meaning comes from the story you give your model, not from what it looks like.

By the end of the workshop, you will have:

• A clearer working map of your current career situation
• Language for the conditions and patterns influencing your decisions
• A focused question to guide your next stage of exploration

How much will you need to share?

Career transitions can be personal. You will be invited to explain the meaning of your models, but you decide how much personal detail you want to share.

Materials

You will need your own LEGO pieces or a comparable collection of building pieces. Purchasing the recommended LEGO® Serious Play® Starter Kit is the simplest option, but you may use your own varied collection of bricks, figures, connectors, and movable or symbolic pieces.

This is the first workshop in a four-part series for navigating nonlinear career change. It delivers a complete diagnostic experience on its own, so you do not need to commit to the full series to participate.

The remaining workshops help you recognize your capabilities beyond your job title, explore adjacent possibilities, and design a small experiment to test what comes next.
